Robbinsville settles friendly football pizza bet with Upper Freehold Township – MidJersey.News

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ (MERCER) – UPPER FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ (MONMOUTH) – A friendly pizza bet placed between the Robbinsville and Upper Freehold Township mayors and committee members about an hour before a home game between Allentown High School and Robbinsville September 16, 2022 It was decided that if Allentown won the game, Robbinsville would provide Tomato tart from De Lorenzo at the next Upper Freehold committee meeting and if Robbinsville won Upper Freehold would provide Sorella’s Trattoria pizza at the Robbinsville committee meeting.

The game was played on September 16, 2022 with Allentown winning by a score of 35-18, which required Robbinsville to deliver on that promise at tonight’s Upper Freehold Township Committee meeting.

The special delivery was made by the Robbinsville Township Police Department just before 7:00 p.m. before the start of the township meeting by Sergeant Scott Kivet and Patrol Constable Rene Godfrey.

Committee members have expressed interest in finding some extra fun for next year’s game.

Mayor Dave Fried posted on Facebook tonight: “Tonight I paid our debt to Upper Freehold for beating us at football. We bet that whoever won the game would have a pizza delivered to the board meeting. So the best in Robbinsville delivered the best in Robbinsville. Thank you Sam Amico and DeLorenzo’s We will have them next year for sure.”
