The Cincinnati Reds managed to put the skids on a seven-game losing streak last night with a 4-2 win over the San Francisco Giants. It was an embarrassing loss for San Francisco, which now finds itself 6.5 games behind the Dodgers for the NL West lead.
The Reds, on the other hand, we all know what this team is. They are potentially one of the worst teams to ever take the field and won’t have much help tonight on the mound. Can the Reds pull off back-to-back upsets or will the Giants get quick revenge?

Execute the line:
Another week and another start for Mike Minor of the Reds. AKA, another game to wipe out the worst pitcher on baseball’s worst team. Minor enters that lag with a 6.97 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 20 ⅔ innings of work this year. Technically he’s lowering his ERA game over game, but it started at 11:25 and that’s not a high mark to beat. Sunday against the Brewers, Minor allowed four earned runs on six hits in six innings. He struck out four, walked three and now has a bad 17:8 K:BB.
While Minor struggles in Cincinnati, Logan Webb has been busy mowing down opponents left and right in San Francisco. The guy hasn’t lost a game since April 19 and is 6-2 with a 3.26 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. Webb was magical in his last start where he allowed just one run against the Atlanta Braves in seven good innings. He struck out seven and didn’t walk a single batter. With an ERA of 2.59 in June, it’s safe to say that Webb is stuck right now.
The Reds have nothing going for them at the moment and now face one of the best teams in the National League. With Minor on the mound, they have even less chance than usual of causing an upset here. Don’t let last night fool you. The Reds are awful and should return to their natural state tonight.
Choose: Giants -1.5 (-105)
