Pick of the day: Patriots-Falcons best bet, plus more NFL, college football and NHL games for Thursday

Jonathan Coachman is joined by sports betting experts Allie O’Neill, Mike McClure, Allan Bell and Larry Hartstein on the Early edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. Get top notch games for the NFL, college football and the NHL on Thursday, October 18, and you can stream the show live every morning on SportsLine’s YouTube page.

Mike begins with an in-depth look at Under trends in the NBA. Allan tells us why we should expect some prop play in Texans-Titans. Larry takes a look at the very concerning Lions QB situation.

The coach provides the SportsLine game of the day, highlighting Louisville -20 on Duke at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Cardinals appear to be a “well-oiled machine” while the Blue Devils come to be bad on both sides of the ball.

Mike takes the Patriots and Falcons under 9.5 points in the first quarter at 8:20 p.m. ET. “The Patriots have Damien Harris back, Rhamondre Stevenson will be there, it will definitely be a timeshare. They will be looking to lead the game early and often,” he said. “The fact that Cordarrelle Patterson is probably out for the Falcons will certainly limit things. Wayne Gallman and Mike Davis will take on the running back duties for Atlanta. I don’t expect them to be very successful at the start of it. “

Allan offers a trio of NFL Week 11 games, including the Dolphins and Jets Under 45 points on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. He says it will be an “awful” game to watch, especially with Miami’s aggressive defense against Joe Flacco. He will also win points from the Cardinals and Seahawks Under-49 on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET. Both teams have star quarterbacks that may not live up to expectations due to recent injuries. Allan’s final pick, the Bills – 7 over the Colts at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, prompts the coach and Larry to engage in a three-way SportsLine showdown.

Allan says Carson Wentz is going to have a really tough time against the Buffalo defense on the road. Larry officially submits his selection of the Bills to join Allan. He cites several key injuries for the Colts. The coach, however, is confident in Indianapolis and the stage is set for the two-on-one SportsLine Showdown.

In the NHL, Allie faces the -150 Penguins against the Canadiens at 7 p.m. ET. Both teams were bad, but Montreal was worse than Pittsburgh. The Penguins have Sidney Crosby back and should have enough to win against the Canadiens goaltenders.
