Braves vs Padres Prediction and Odds for Thursday, April 14 (Bet Musgrove to Control Atlanta’s Lineup)

Two National League contenders meet in San Diego on Thursday night.

Defending World Series champions Atlanta Braves head to Southern California to take on the Padres, who are coming off a two-of-three loss to the Giants. We’re set for a pitching duel with veteran Charlie Morton on the slab for Atlanta, while the Padres turn to right-hander Joe Musgrove.

Who has the advantage in this high-level pitching match? Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook:

Braves vs. Padres Odds, Run Line, Total

Execute the line:

  • Brave: +1.5 (-210)
  • Fathers: -1.5 (+170)

Money line:

Total: 8 (Over +100/Under -120)

Braves vs Padres Prediction and Picks

Morton continues to age like fine wine. He looked elite in his first start of the season: 5.1 innings pitched, two hits allowed and two earned runs under his belt. However, it was against a limited Reds roster that ended up tacking on four runs against the Braves bullpen.

The “pen” may be a concern for Atlanta all season, especially in a game like this against a vaunted Padres roster and a pitcher in Morton who no longer has the arm to go further in games.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Musgrove should be able to roll against the Braves. While Atlanta also has a ton of talent on the roster, the right-hander has been making money at home since moving to San Diego last season. He has a 2.92 ERA on 16 home starts while striking out more than 11 batters per nine innings.

At a close pickup, I think the pitching advantage belongs to the home team and I’m going to give it a shot against the Padres.

LEAN: Padres-106
